Once in a Lifetime

If i Download this Right now does it mean  that the game was already complete in story?

I started playing because of the h-scenes. But its the story and humor that kept me till the end. 

Seriously the humor in this game made me legit laugh out loud to the extend my roommates heard me (which should mean something because i rarely actually find something in games funny or if i do its the silent laugh). I started playing this in the evening and kept playing till it was midday the next day and dont regret not even a second of the unslept night.

Something also note worthy: First time i came in contact with this game was at its very early stage. i still have the old version on my pc as a reminder to play it again when theres more content and i am very glad to see that not only is there more content, but the game is actually finished. Now let that sink in... THE GAME IS ACTUALLY FINISHED. If i had a penny for every game i played on this and a bunch of other sites that got abandoned midway, id be a millionere (well not actually but still). The fact that the dev actually kept working on this project and didnt get discouraged during it speaks a lot, at least to me.

The fact that the game was built with simple honey select and ren'py, and is still better than some more advanced games that ive played,  speaks a lot about the creator and his talent.

From the more than hundred of games ive played, this one actually surprised me and definitely takes place as one of the top ones.

Seriously, great work Caribdis, you made something you can be proud of (maybe not the "proud infront of your family" type of way, but definitely in the game developer way). Cant wait to see what youre working on next.

Out of all the games on this site I've had the chance to play so far, Once in a Lifetime was spectacularly fun and sexy. I had a blast with the decision making and the utter screw-ups on my part here and there that just made replaying various chapters all the more enjoyable and rewarding. One thing i especially soaked up was the comedy aspect. I'm go mad for anything with decent comedy and satire in it, and that hallucination scene where Batman, Joker, and all kinds of different characters break the game's fourth wall was freaking hilarious.

I can also pride myself on saying that I only looked at the walkthrough when my back was really against the wall. Seriously... getting those H-scenes with Jasmine took some intense pre-requisite decisions I didn't anticipate. Bloody nice work, mate.

As for your adaptation of demonology, well done. You have no idea how many people flounder at storytelling when it comes to the whole cultist shtick.

Love the game and have played it 4 times, this game has one of the best 18+ multi-endings I have seen so far. Everything was just right, just a right amount of s*x, wonderful humour, plenty of mysteries, erotic naked women and a great storyline.  A+ (but I feel like could still be  A++)

I would like to add suggestions for OIaLt (once in a lifetime) and Eternum:

OlaLt has a great "Good" ending. But I feel it needs a longer and better "Evil" ending. I don't know if you can still add that in. 

The story duration in OlaLt is perfect. The sweet spot I believe would be twice the duration as it is now. But Eternum feels like it's going to be 4 times as long. Please focus on Quality, not Quantity. 

I like Eternum's artwork more than OlaLt , the body of the female cast seem to be more various (OlaLt had all big titty and similar heights), but 0.1 seem abit unpolished as few parts of the scenes seem rough. Perhaps you are having different software for the art in Eternum than OlaLt, it would be great if Eternum had the same level detail as OlaLt, but that could be just me.

I don't play many visual novels +18 or in general. I'm more of a let me play a game instead of read a book, I like reading but sometime you just wanna play a game. But sometimes I'll take a risk and see what one's about. 

The early game defiantly got me as it test me on random facts I knew as a of history and random chemical facts, so that grabbed me, and I didn't miss it to much when the actual plot got going.  The plot itself is pretty good and didn't make me question twenty thousand things, and I wanna talk about that real quick.

My biggest problem is when a story takes a long time different things sometimes get very complex for better or worst. An example Lesson in Love got pretty complex but it never felt overbearing since you went in knowing things were kinda fucky, but Trouble in Paradise I got to what I'm assuming is the halfway point before I dropped it. 

Of course the other big thing is humor, but that only saves so much of novel if I'm just not having fun. There's a few other factors like how much of a sense of disbelief I can have, and character's and those both play big roles in my enjoyment .

I've gotten off topic, point the the plot didn't make itself super complex, The story's about a cult and it ends with a story about a cult. Some of the twist are a little predictable, but the story stands well enough on it's own.  There's also 1 thing in it.

Every game, no matter the genre, has that character. The character that comes in and steals the show and heart somehow. In Harem Hotel it was Android for example, and this game is no exception. Stabby Mike, gutted the competition, and then became the ringleader of the circus. 

If there's a world where he's still in that cell rotting, I don't wanna be apart of it. This guy came in and went well beyond the call of duty even amount blood debts. Didn't ask for anything just smiled and shot one of my problems away and left saying we'll meat again. A few more people may have died than needed, but you can't build an orphanage without making a few orphans.

10/10 would recommend to people who want a good visual novel and wanna meet the dnd character brought to the novel that is Stabby Mike.

Im proud to say today that I have a new favourate game and its this one. Everything was so perfect I was hooked for the full day. The models look absolutely stunning (Lauren was my fav). I love the sound effects. They made the experience even better. The plot was very interesting. I loved the lil fantasy/supernatural touch to it but not so much that it made the whole game go into the fantasy genre. I loved that there were some good emotional moments. But most of all I LOVED MOMENTS WHERE STABBY MIKE WAS THERE. Those scenes were absolutely badass. I heard about the new game in dev. And im definitely waiting to play that. Also thinking of supporting by patreon, altough I wouldnt be a higher tier since I dont really earn much. But I really loved the game and its the least I could do. It gas a deeper meaning to me but this isnt about me anyways, so im not gonna get into that

Bottom Line: This game is worth your time, your hormones xD, your tears, and the laughs you get while playing this game. I'd definitely recommend people to play this if you see this comment. 10/10.

This game is so good and it is so addictive do you have any other game like this Caribdis ?

I can personally say this is one of the best visual novels I have played in a long time. The story line is a lot better and more thought out than most other 18+ games. I feel as though I'm speaking for more people than myself when I say I'd love a second installment to this game, though I have no clue what the story line would be, I feel like you, with how well you did with this game and how well your other game Eternum is doing, would definitely be able to make a well thought out, captivating story line if there will be a second installment to this game. Definitely would recommend 1000/10 game, keep up the fantastic work.

I'm going to he honest when I first played this game before I had an itch account I didn't really like it, I started playing it again and I fell in love with it, I'm glad that there is a Harem ending, most games don't even have that, I'm glad I played this game again and I'm definitely addicted to it.

This is my first time playing a game like this. I'v never played an adult visual novel game or something like that and i have to say that i'm in love whit this game, i love every aspect of it, the character (every single character), the plot, the ending, the funny parts, the music, everything. I even cried at the end. I read every single line and enjoyed every single aspect of it (actually i played twice).

Great game, love the humor and I thought it refreshing that the main characters started off close rather than the one stepsister sweet, the older one nasty. The bit with Oliver was killer. I agree I'd love to see more added but also look forward to seeing what you do with Eternum.

Caribdis, amazing job. Just wow. Great game and I love that there are different ending based on your choices unlike other "games" with choices like Mass Effect.  I just wanted to say you have brought joy into many peoples lives and keep up the good work. This game is an 11 out of a possible 5.

This game is absolutely amazing. I had so much fun playing this, and I've still got a couple endings to finish. My favourite was the harem ending, of course. It's a shame that Rebeca doesn't join. Is there any ending that doesn't have her get married? Anyway, pretty much a perfect game! Amazingly funny, amazingly sexy, what more could you want? Can't wait for Eternum!

I am actually speechless. I have to thank you. This is a high-quality life-changing experience for you guys. Tell me, someone, a month ago that I will feel like that and I wouldn't believe those idiots. Trust me here, if you are reading this but still haven't tried it. Don't hesitate. DOWNLOAD NOW! 

Maybe it would sound funny, I have tried lots of video games and am currently in some kind of a games depression when nothing brings you joy anymore. Last time I had this kind of emotion only when I finished Red Dead Redemption 2. And can you believe me (neither I can) that this solely made little (or not anymore) itch.io project is the same quality as AAA project that cost over $500 million and 8 years to make!)

Even that I don't have that much time to play games, I've tried some top-rated itch.io projects over the years. Loved some, some weren't great, saw their Steam success and lots of stuff. But this is truly A HIDDEN GEM! You deserve every pound you got and will get (some from me definitely) for this. First when I looked at the screenshots, didn't have much curiosity as other projects have much better renders and backgrounds. But after a month of it being just stored on my 500Gb only SSD, I finally gave it a chance. My dear readers, it was one of the best decisions I had recently (and trust me, my life wasn't that great recently).  I want to apologise. The quality is more than enough and justified. The amount of content that you get for your own price (don't lie, you got it for free;) is outstanding. Solid 20 hours of pure quality and even quantity! First I was skipping some casual chats, but oh God, 1 hour in and I already was reading every line. As English being my second but not native language I can reassure you that text is simple enough to understand but at the same time robust and not profane like in some other projects where you just get lots of unjustified dirty talking from shy girls or like that. I even had a bug that at some point my ingame sound got broken and I didn't hear a thing for about 3 hours. Should I tell you that I didn't even notice that ahaha? I got all of the characters voiced over in my head with their unique personalities. 

Ok, I think I've spent enough of your time already. I might add something later when I finish the game (I am at the climax and just want to leave it there. I can't go further, I need some time. Maybe I just don't want it to be finished). I can write an email to the author with proper full text. 

And again! Huge, enormous, colossal, gigantic, massive, big and giant THANKS for the game. It is more than 10/10. It is indescribable. Just try it. I'm done with a little tear. I'll get some coffee

OMG, I really really loved this game. It's hand down the best visual novel I've played. I loved the comedy, the mysteries, the action and the sex scenes, everything. When the game ended  I found my reflection on the black screen of my laptop, smiling like an idiot.

Absolute blast, the humour was top notch, the character development was incredible, and the story was fantastic, you almost had me crying at a certain point towards the end, I highly recommend this game, 10/10

Had to leave you a tip after playing. Made me laugh like crazy, especially the prison sequence and when Queen of the night started to play. Well done mate. I do agree you should edit the game to remove copyrighted material and put it up on Steam. Redo the dream sequence and costumes for the party and I reckon you'd have a hit on your hands. Cheers for the game mate, easily worth ten bucks.

Wow! Just finished this game, and wow! Such a fine balance! Honestly I'm the kind who never reads the story and get bored quick, but this story is compelling and eventful so it never gets boring.

And Stabby Mike is soooooo funny! The walk-through is a must have to properly enjoy the game. Honestly I laughed so hard a few times thanks to Mike, but also some other qwerky silly jokes...

Even in the epilogue (laughing while thinking about it), see what hiromi's assistant gives to the kids 🤣🤣

First off, wonderful game. I remember playing this a year ago and thinking it had potential, but now I've finished it and I have to say: that was absolutely great. Good enough to get me to pay for this even though you graciously allow free downloads. The only bad part is finishing the game and realizing that I won't see more misadventures with this crazy crew! 

By the way, I know that your attention is focused on Eternum now (definitely going to check that out), but you should consider adding some extra scenes to the end of OiaL that let you talk and "interact" with your girl(s) after the finale. Just as a way of giving closure to the game and leaving the player with a last reward for getting their ending.

In any case, great stuff and I look forward to your next project!

Quick question: while trying to download this game, it says that it is not a valid zip file. Is there a different way that I can install it through Itch.io? It says this specifically for the NOPY version and wont let me download the mega version either.

I'm not a big fan of adult / erotic games. But this one made me change my mind. A really nice scenario with a lot of humor, very endearing characters. I couldn't stop playing until I finished it. A wonderful game ! 

@Caribdis, sell it on steam. People like me must know good adult/erotic game exist.

Two things to ask, I saw at the begining it says we can stray from the character paths,  does teh game tell us when we are about to do something to break the path.   and 2 .. any supernatural elements in this ?

No matter what choices I make I can never get to  Rebecca's last scene. What am I doing wrong?
