Definitely better than OiaL. The MC of that game often came across as manipulative and sleazy, but the MC in Eternum comes across as a better person. It's for that reason I decided to have him pursue a monagamous path and deliberately avoid as much fanservice or alternate paths as I possibly could. It worked surprisingly well, and it didn't require the MC to be rude or even unkind.
Making the game an ensemble cast working together, with everyone having different strengths, and all being relevant at various times also helps, since people still get some stuff to do even when locked out.
... Although perhaps the feeling that you can play a "nice guy" is just because I chose to be exclusive with Annie, which lends itself better to that playstyle.
Given her frustrating with feeling useless and her wish to seen as being useful by the MC, I think it would be nice if eventually she has to overcome her fear of scary things and gets to save the MC.
I will preface this with saying I am waiting to play Eternum. I would hope this is better than Once in a Lifetime. As is, you could see the improvements throughout it, and this is meant to be bigger than it lol. So it's great to hear that Caribdis is still improving on an already great foundation :D
that is exactly why I am choosing to wait lmao. I just tried this one called Realm Invader that only has 2 "episodes" currently. A lot of comments were positive, and saw one compare it to Caribdis, so I gave it a go. I want more xD. And I know if I just jump into Eternum now ima be big sadge when I hit the end of the current content instead of the whole story like I did with OiaL. I know it's *roughly* 80% ish done. So I can wait a bit longer, play the whole thing, then drop money on Caribdis again like I did with the prior game lol. Really glad to hear he's improved so much, makes me look forward to it :D
No it isn't 80% done. It's going to go beyond 10 updates, with the latest estimate around 12-14 updates total by the end. So we're still about 50-60% done with the main story if the estimates hold up.
I say 80% ish because it's at 0.8 atm. Once it hits 1.0 is usually when story is classed as "finished" then any updates or add-ons after that are like 1.1 1.2 etc
That said, I did notice a couple instances where the game did assume I was playing the field.
- Before the first visit to the "New World" server, Nancy called the MC a playboy, jumping from one date to another, even though I had only actually been on one date. That was the one with Annie in Eternum, and that was supposed to have been a secret. Literally everyone else had been greyed out a couple chapters ago or even earlier.
- Just before going to get pizza, the MC says that getting the pizza to surprise Nancy makes him a "hopeless romantic", which felt odd since her path had been grey since turning down going to yoga with her.
- Similarly in the last scene of Ch. 7, a certain character accuses the MC of being "intoxicated with women." That might be a little fair, but still, everyone else had been greyed out without any reaching any encounter, so it didn't quite make full sense. Being exclusive with one doesn't match the description of "intoxicated."
Seems to me that the game being set up to accommodate that play style and still preserve the plot is beyond what one should expect. Sounds like going to a rib shack, ordering just a salad, then being put-off that there are no maple syrup or coconut milk based dressings available.
Maybe like with taking over empires, one of Nancy's skills is knowing when everyone else is having encounters. I've never tried to play past Maat without one; I may go see how that works out. Or maybe 'date' is just spending time individually with all the different women, which MC has to do. "Hopeless romantic" is accurate no matter what other explanations apply, as MC's in-game reasons for choosing Annie only are limited to what we see in the text, not to your particular reasons for following that path, which couldn't possibly be reflected in the text.
I was merely making observations. Not all feedback is going to match the creator's intentions, but it's up to them to decide which feedback to consider and which to ignore. Yes, it may be the case that picking one person's story to the exclusion of others is not the intended route. However, cutting off potential routes is built into the game. If cutting off routes wasn't intended, you wouldn't be able to. Besides, playing in a way which is possible-but-not-intended is a good idea, it helps check for bugs and such.
I fully agree on choice. However, the nature of this game is not monogamous, and the various characters hint strongly at the planned combinations, even if MC is off-screen.
It is even set up so that not pursuing them, in most cases, makes their virtual existence worse, so intentionally cutting off routes in this game is abandoning them.
Short answer: the dev made it so people could play monogamy, but doing so is like buying Turbotax Premium and filing a sing 1040EZ.

When you tried to get to the old save files? Older Android versions won't let you access the "Android/data" folder by any means, so I guess you either have to give up your old saves or look into rooting your device, which would require substantial effort.
If you already had the full-res version, just replace the archive.rpa and install the new apk. If you had the "normal" version, here's a guide for that.
It was converted due to it's file size, it's still an APK you just have to extract it from the ZIP file and move the rpa file into the game folder of it's destination. It's all explained in a read me file included in the zip. Most newer androids have built in unzip in your actual files section of downloads. It does it pretty easily and most times creates tabs within your file for easier management.
Anyways the update is good as always and I'm curious about something how would you fit everything in the last 3 updates? Like there is a lot of content needed for a good ending in eternum and from what I know I think you're gonna end it on ver 1.0 so idk how you'll cover up that many questions in 3 updates only.
And I've also noticed a lot of things after re playing the games for like 5 times now like why Luna can't see Orion's future or why Orion has 100% compatibility why is chop-chop always around helping our mc and the syndicate stuff, so like I have my hypothesis and shit but no I won't reveal them just yet, maybe I'm wrong but, maybe I'm also right.

The story is amazing, all of the inclusions from other media (destiny, subnautica, Dark Souls 3) literally makes me giddy. This update was absolutely brilliant!!!! Extremely funny, entertaining, and suspenseful! I've never experienced a visual novel that even comes close to meeting the entertainment and immersion that Eternum does! I can't wait for Version 0.8!

If you have no programming knowledge, URM is probably the easiest tool for cheating. You want to search for the variable that's simply named "money" and set it to a value of your liking. 1400 should be a quite good amount of money to have at that point.
Sorry to keep bombarding you with my problem but money will not show up. I've searched up money in variable names ive searched the amount I have being in like neg 2 mil and ive tried searching "eternals." nothing is popping up I just cant find the variable. Almost like its been removed lol
If it didn't exist at all, RenPy would fall back to the default value: zero. Your case is very peculiar. Do you have other saves you can load? Maybe the specific one you tried to load is corrupted. If that won't work either, then just start over I guess. There's worse things than replaying Eternum. :P
Plot twist: Stabby Mike gets starts on eternum, gets the 10 gems, becomes ceo, establishes a global democracy, starts telling life story to main character, (cue crossover game with mike as main character between once in a lifetime and eternum).
I've been a returning commenter since 0.5, and this man never disappoints! I could never even guess how the story would progress, and it always surprises me. Never a moment of dullness, always on the edge. I do not wish to spoil the fun for others but all I can say is that I wholeheartedly recommend this game. In OIALT, there's also a pregnancy question at the start of the game. If you do enable it, some girls will get pregnant if you creampie them, though this is late in the game. During the main story, pregnancy is mostly limited to the characters finding out about it, we see only very early pregnancy. It's an additional, wholesome part of the story! Though there are no additional lewd scenes. If you get the best ending, there will be a collage of what happens during the year after the finale. If you enabled pregnancy, a few of the pictures show that all girls in our harem eventually get pregnant and we even see some of the babies.

Everything is great. The story, the humor, the style, the juiciness? All is well done. I am not the kind of person who likes to read. Never have been, never will. But this game makes it enjoyable to read. It rewards the patience for reading. The story is paced well, sequences well animated and honestly the humor is my style. There are enough twists and turns to keep it entertaining, spice to keep it interesting and overall a lot of moments that gets you wanting more. Honestly, nothing to complain about.
Would love to meet the creator themselves just to honestly thank them and appreciate them. Their creativity is honestly, boundless and their way with words, immaculate. Simply astonishing. The only gripe is that the ideal life the MC of the story goes through makes reality that much harsher XD.

In many ways, it's a reflection of our harsh reality. The world is cruel and violent, and often ends in a truly unsatisfying way. Happy endings are a luxury few can afford, and unfortunately Orion's luck ran dry, leaving a trail of sorrow and misery. I only hope his two to three children will fare better. RIP

There seem to be a bug on android I installed it and did everything like the guide then I can play it normally though there's no audio at all? I restarted my phone and even turn off and on on the settings.
Probably a known bug that I know the game has in it's current version. There's nothing you can do for now, except play on another device. This only affects very few Android devices.
Not to give away some of my favorite kinks, and some of those sources, but a really tiny splash where only one of the Novas had the breast mole would be very cool. Better still if aggressive Louise Nova and passive Mary Nova follow form, but I can't assume any kind of contact there. Just a perv perving.

Wtf, I've never heard of that. I guess you can look into cheating for RenPy and change the variable named money.

Absolutely 100% agreed. I downloaded this game to see some boobs, but was pleasantly surprised by a genuinely heartfelt and amazing story.

Everything is great. The story, the humor, the style, the juiciness? All is well done. I am not the kind of person who likes to read. Never have been, never will. But this game makes it enjoyable to read. It rewards the patience for reading. The story is paced well, sequences well animated and honestly the humor is my style. There are enough twists and turns to keep it entertaining, spice to keep it interesting and overall a lot of moments that gets you wanting more. Honestly, nothing to complain about.
Would love to meet the creator themselves just to honestly thank them and appreciate them. Their creativity is honestly, boundless and their way with words, immaculate. Simply astonishing. The only gripe is that the ideal life the MC of the story goes through makes reality that much harsher XD.
Enough said, just give it a shot. Take that leap of faith, friend
In many ways, it's a reflection of our harsh reality. The world is cruel and violent, and often ends in a truly unsatisfying way. Happy endings are a luxury few can afford, and unfortunately Orion's luck ran dry, leaving a trail of sorrow and misery. I only hope his two to three children will fare better. RIP

No Family Center? Uhm, well then I can't help you anymore. All I know is that to join NSFW servers, Discord needs to know your birthday. This would've been a way to cause such a prompt, maybe there are other ways to trigger it, I don't know :(
There seem to be a bug on android I installed it and did everything like the guide then I can play it normally though there's no audio at all? I restarted my phone and even turn off and on on the settings.

Probably a known bug that I know the game has in it's current version. There's nothing you can do for now, except play on another device. This only affects very few Android devices.
Not to give away some of my favorite kinks, and some of those sources, but a really tiny splash where only one of the Novas had the breast mole would be very cool. Better still if aggressive Louise Nova and passive Mary Nova follow form, but I can't assume any kind of contact there. Just a perv perving.
